RESPONSIBILITIES
Two important responsibilities undertaken by the Junior Volunteers are:

Confidentiality-All or any information concerning a patient and hospital affairs

Dependability-Reporting on time in uniform adhering to standards of the hospital, obeying the supervisor, conducting oneself professionally-all of these speak of the Junior Volunteer's dependability.

Violation of rules and repeated failure to report on duty will make it necessary to discontinue services of a Junior Volunteer.

TYPES OF VOLUNTEERS

Information Desk Volunteer: Staffs the Information Desk to ensure that patient listings are kept current. Directs visitors and patients to the various diagnostic departments. The Information Desk Volunteer may assist the hospital departments with other duties upon request.

Hospital Departmental Volunteer: Aids staff in various hospital departments by running errands, answering phones and taking messages. This volunteer may help with patients under the supervision of department heads.

ELIGIBILITY
Students who are 14 years old and/or in grades 9 through 12 are eligible through the summer of graduation from high school. Students must be 14 by June 1.
