Interview:
all applicants will be interviewed by the Volunteer
Coordinator to assess interest areas and facilitate
job placement
Orientation:
a two-day hospital volunteer orientation consisting
of hospital policy, safety, infection control and
volunteer issues is required before beginning to volunteer.
Health
screening: all volunteers will be given an initial
health screening to be completed before beginning
service.
Scheduling:
the Volunteer Coordinator will schedule all volunteer
hours. Each volunteer is responsible for finding a
replacement for his/her absences.
Uniforms:
all volunteers are required to purchase a smock/jacket
from the hospital. A name tag will be provided by
the hospital. Volunteers must always wear a name tag
and smock when on duty.
Yearly
education: all volunteers are required to attend
an annual hospital education day as well as have an
annual TB test.
