Cardiopulmonary services are based on a medically
supervised and monitored exercise and education program for individuals
who suffer from or are at risk of developing lung
disease. |
| |
Pulmonary Rehabilitation may be recommended for the following illnesses: asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and cystic fibrosis.
|
| |
The team includes a board certified physician, registered respiratory therapists, and registered nurses. Other health professionals are available to meet individual needs including registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. |
| |
The pulmonary rehabilitation program provides safe exercises that strengthens the lungs, reduces the chance of further lung problems; build confidence through resuming normal activities; provides information about the lungs; and offer educational programs and support if lifestyle changes are necessary (educational support includes smoking cessation program, diabetic teaching, asthma/allergy clinics, nutrition and weight loss programs, health and wellness programs). |
