Physical
Therapy
is the treatment and prevention of disease and injury
through evaluation, development and implementation of plans
of care, for therapeutic exercise to stretch, strengthen
facilitate and reeducate. Includes functional mobility training,
gait training; pre-prosthetic and prosthetic training, joint
mobilization, lymphedema management, neuromuscular reeducation,
chronic pain management, wound care, testing of range of
motion, strength, gait and functional mobility.

Occupational
Therapy
is the treatment and prevention of disease and injury
through evaluation, development and implementation of a
plan of care for therapeutic exercises to stretch, strengthen,
facilitate and reeducate. Includes hand and upper extremities
injury evaluation, treatment and splint design, fine-motor
testing and training, visual-perceptual testing and training,
cognitive testing and training, ADL testing and training,
neuromuscular reeducation, functional mobility testing and
training, assessment and fitting of orthosis and pre-prosthetic
and prosthetic training.

Speech
and Language pathology
is the treatment and prevention of disorders of speech,
language and swallowing through evaluation, development
and implementation of a plan of care to address these aspects
of communication and related functions. Specialized diagnostic
capabilities include modified barium swallow examinations.

Rehabilitation Consultations for inpatients, skilled nursing patients and outpatients are provided within twenty-four (24) hours of referral. Outpatients are seen by appointment between the hours of 7:30am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday with the exception of major holidays. Rehabilitation services are provided by physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and speech-language pathologists. Support staff includes rehabilitation aides and a secretary/receptionist. Services are directed by a medical staff appointed physician and the Director of Clinical Services. These services are offered to a patient population ranging from children to geriatric and provided to inpatients, outpatients and patients in the Skilled Nursing Unit. All therapists and therapy assistants hold West Virginia licenses. National Certification is maintained by Occupational Therapists and speech/language pathologists. Specialty certification is available in hand therapy and Lymphedema management.
